Detailed itinerary : 31st May to 8th June

Day 1: 31st May – Delhi to Manali – Overnight Volvo

Your journey begins in Delhi as you board an overnight Volvo bus to Manali. Volvo tickets will be provided to you. This day you will have to take care of your own meals on the dinner stop.

Day 2: 1st June – Manali Arrival and Local Sightseeing

Upon your arrival in Manali, take an auto and proceed to your booked hotel. check in at your hotel and freshen up (check-in at 12:00 Noon). Early check-in is subject to room availability. In the afternoon, start your local sightseeing tour in Manali. Visit popular attractions such as Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, Vashisht Hot Springs, and the Mall Road, where you can explore local markets and enjoy some shopping. In the evening, return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3: 2nd June – Manali to Jispa

After breakfast, we will receive you at your hotel reception from Manali and take you to Jispa. The drive to Jispa offers stunning views of the Himalayan landscapes and passes through Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel, Sissu, and Keylong with multiple stops. You’ll reach Jispa, a small village in the Lahaul Valley, by evening. Check in at your hotel and relax in the serene surroundings of Jispa. You can spend the evening by the Bhaga River (walkable distance from your accommodation). Dinner and night stay in Jispa.

Day 4: 3rd June – Jispa to Leh

Today, after early breakfast you’ll continue your journey to Leh. The road to Leh will take you through high mountain passes, including Baralacha La, Naki La, Lachung La  and Tanglang La, providing breathtaking views of the rugged terrain. Upon reaching Leh, check in at your hotel for the dinner and night stay.

Day 5: 4th June – Leh – Sham Valley tour + Local sightseeing

After breakfast, we have a full day trip covering Alchi Monastery, Lekir Monastery, Indus Zanskar Sangam, and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. In Leh, visit the Hall of Fame, Leh Palace, Namgyal Tsemo, and Shanti Stupa. In the evening, you are free to explore the local market at your own pace, which is within walking distance from the hotel. Dinner and night stay will be at the hotel in Leh.

Day 6: 5th June – Leh to Nubra Valley

After breakfast, depart for Nubra Valley, one of Ladakh’s most beautiful regions. Your route will take you through the famous Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motor-able passes in the world. In Nubra Valley, visit Diskit Monastery and the enchanting sand dunes of Hunder. Enjoy a camel ride in the sand dunes and soak in the natural beauty. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 7: 6th June – Nubra Valley to Pangong

After breakfast, you’ll head to Pangong Lake, a high-altitude lake known for its stunning colors and beauty. The journey will take you through Shyok Valley, offering mesmerising views. Upon reaching Pangong, check-in to your accommodation and explore the area and spend the night in a camp near the lake, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the region.

Day 8: 7th June – Pangong to Leh

In the morning, take in the beauty of Pangong Lake before heading back to Leh via Changla Pass. You’ll pass through the picturesque landscapes of Ladakh once again. On your return to Leh, visit Shey Palace and Thiksey Monastery. Check in at your hotel in Leh and have a relaxing evening.

Day 9: 8th June – Leh Airport Drop

On your last day, depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be dropped off at Leh Airport for your onward journey, concluding your memorable trip through the beautiful landscapes of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh.

Above mentioned cost is Per Person on Double Sharing, which means 2 people sharing 1 Room.
Single supplement, which means staying in a single room alone would be INR 10,900/- extra on the above given cost.

Leh to onwards airfare or land transfers on departure (which means you will have to book your return ticket from Leh at your own)

Porterage (coolie charges), laundry, telephone charges, shopping, wines & alcoholic beverages, mineral water (unless specified), items of personal nature, and food and drink which are not part of the set group menu.

Any extra cost incurred on behalf of any individual due to illness, accident, hospitalisation, or any personal emergency.

Extra costs arising due to bad weather, road closure, or any other circumstances beyond our control.

What to Carry

A Trans-Himalayan road trip can be an exciting adventure, but it’s essential to be well-prepared to ensure a safe and comfortable journey. Here’s a list of items and essentials to carry for your trip:

1. CLOTHING:

Layered clothing for varying weather conditions (including thermals, fleece, and waterproof jackets).

Warm clothing, even if traveling during the summer, as high altitudes can get cold.

Comfortable and sturdy shoes for walking.

Sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect against high-altitude sun exposure.

Gloves and a beanie for colder nights.

 

2. FOOD AND WATER:

Sufficient food and snacks for your journey, as remote areas may have limited access to restaurants or stores. We recommend carrying dry fruits.

At least 2 litres of water at any time.

 

3. HEALTH AND SAFETY:

Basic medical kit with essential medicines and first-aid supplies.

Personal prescription medications.

High-altitude sickness prevention medications (consult a healthcare professional). In search, Tso Moriri and Pangong the origin level is low.

Face masks and hand sanitizer (for travel during pandemic times).

Travel insurance that covers medical emergencies and road trips.

 

4. MISCELLANEOUS:

Cash in local currency for remote areas with limited banking services.

Camera and binoculars for capturing the stunning landscapes.

Power banks and chargers for electronic devices.
